Structured Learning and PR1ME Mathematics

PR1ME Mathematics and Scholastic MATH PRO are structured around key principles from the science of learning, embedding practices like repetition, scaffolded instruction, and explicit feedback to foster mathematical proficiency.

Both programs follow a systematic progression that balances skill development with deep conceptual understanding. As students achieve proficiency, the programs transition them into extensive practice phases to reinforce and internalize learning, a process aligned with the Readiness, Engagement, Mastery Model (REM).

The Concrete-Pictorial-Abstract (CPA) approach is central to PR1ME, transitioning learners from hands-on, concrete experiences to abstract mathematical thinking.

By emphasising this evidence-based method, PR1ME helps students build strong conceptual foundations before advancing to more complex topics. The programme’s use of explicit instruction, clear demonstrations, and immediate corrective feedback also mirrors the explicit teaching model, shown to enhance cognitive engagement and learning outcomes.
